I am Jennica Haines, a Registered Counselling Therapist (Candidate) with the Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists and a Canadian Certified Counsellor. I hold a Master Degree in Counselling (2015) and a joint major Bachelor Degree in Psychology and Sociology (2008). I was born and raised in the beautiful Annapolis Valley and have a passion for advocating and educating individuals to find their voices and feel heard. I work with adults and teens navigating various concerns such as anxiety, stress, grief, self-esteem, relationship challenges, and life transitions. I have a special interest in working with late diagnosed ADHD individuals, specifically women seeking understanding of their diagnosis. Whether you’re seeking to process past experiences, strengthen coping skills, or explore personal growth, we’ll work together to find what feels steady and supportive for you. My approach is collaborative and trauma-informed, drawing from strength based, person centred, mindfulness-based and experiential therapies. I believe that meaningful growth happens when we feel safe enough to explore our experiences with curiosity and compassion, and view therapy as a collaborative, individualized, and empowering process—offering a safe, open space to explore experiences, build resilience, and foster self-understanding. I am currently completing specialized training and hope to offer Equine-Assisted Therapy (EAT) in the coming months —an experiential approach that incorporates horses to help individuals develop emotional awareness, communication skills, and confidence. This unique form of therapy provides a powerful opportunity for healing outside the traditional office setting, supporting emotional, mental, and social well-being. I’m deeply committed to helping individuals uncover their strengths, create balance, and move toward meaningful personal growth within a supportive and healing space.
